Mixed bag: know what you’re using it for
First, the two versions of this camera are identical other than the fact that one has built in memory, the other does not. BUT, consider how much you’re paying for that memory? Could you just buy a larger card with the price difference? Probably. Considering that for the sake of convenience you will probably be recording to cards most of the time (so you can just plug them into the computer) I would probably go for the internal memory-less version.

I ran several tests on the camera for a few days to try out its features. I am not a name-brand fanboy, nor am I a dedicated videophile. I’m just going to give you an unbiased impression based upon what my eyes saw:

PROS:

1.)Pretty good daylight recording. Considering what I paid for it, I was surprised by the quality. It’s not a Canon S10 by any means, but I was pleased.
2.)It is unbelievably small and light. Shockingly so. If you are looking for the smallest possible 1080p capable camera to take on a daylight hike, I’m thinking this is near the top of the list.
3.)Has a few of the bells and whistles of a larger camera, including the ability to swap out memory cards, a decent touch-screen menu interface where you can play with the settings (as opposed to some of these cheap-o cameras), a genuine optical zoom, and an HDMI output right on the camera. Unlike most, I had no problem with the touchscreen.
4.)Quick power-on/off feature works really well, battery life was not a problem.

CONS:

1.)You’ll notice I mentioned how surprised I was by the camera’s performance in daylight? I was equally surprised by the nighttime/indoor performance. As in, it was atrocious. Absolutely atrocious. We’re talking awful pixelation, terrible graininess, significant artifacting and block-iness, and a general inability to see anything. The onboard light provided little help. I’m not talking about near pitch black rooms, I’m talking about normally lit indoor areas. The camera is basically useless for indoor or nighttime recording unless you’re using multiple floodlights. I would walk through the house, and even our well lit dining room had significant problems.

I chalk this up to the tiny sensor (less than 2 megapixels) and tiny lens. Sure, it keeps the weight/size factor miniscule, but it really hurts performance. I am not understating this problem, at all. I tried to use the manual shuttings (such as they are) to correct the problem, but playing with frame rates, settings, and modes made little to no difference.

2.)No built-in lens protector. Having a dangling lenscap to annoy you defeats some of the purpose of having such a compact, easy to whip out camera.

3.)Screen tearing/rolling shudder is a problem on quick pans, even more so than other CMOS cameras I’ve tried. I’m not sure what the issue is, but be forewarned.

4.)The cameras awful low light capabilities make most of the individualized settings useless.

5.)If you want to make that final jump from 1080i to 1080p, you’re limited to the “digital cinema” mode that disables the vast majority of the manual settings. A small nitpick, but somewhat annoying.

SUMMARY

Know precisely what you’re going to be using this camera for before you buy it. The video quality in daylight for the price is pretty decent, the form factor/size is phenomenal, and the indoor/low light video quality and options are horrendous. Basically, if you’re only going to be using it outdoors, and size is of paramount important, it’s worthy of consideration.

So far, I love it!
I’ve only had my HDC-TM10K for a couple of days, but so far I’m very impressed. It’s amazingly small and lightweight. Ease of use is great. I was also able to edit HD video on my MacBook–you must have Intel processor, and iMovie 09. I was also able to burn an HD DVD with no problem. So far, I’m very happy with it.

Fantastic
After reading the reviews I was skeptical so I purchased a used one for 279.95. I got the item 3 days after purchase it was in flawless condition. It came in the box with all the accessories. The camera works great I still have not cracked open the user manual to get into more detail of extra settings. Picture quality is vibrant crystal clear and I know it said in the description it was full HD but I admit I was not expecting it to be so. But IT IS! Mine has a 8Gb internal memory also ordered a 16gb sd card for a little extra. Easily swaps from internal memory to external memory with the touchscreen viewer. Yeah it has a touchscreen. I dont remember reading that but I was pleasantly surprised. Other reviews say low light quality is bad, I dont know how little light they were trying to use it in but I disagree. I was filming my sons baseball game at dusk right before the lights came on and picture quality was still great. Definitely recommend buying this product.

I didn’t know what to inquire of when I plopped the dvd into my player. I’m very cautious of apprehension that comes from the independent circuit since there’s a lower caliber of directing and acting alive to within these films. However, this is definitely not the case here.

About halfway into the film, valid memories of Nadja and Martin began to surface in my mind, which is sparkling by me since I enjoyed both movies, especially Nadja. The utilize of a handheld camera as the means in which the viewer sees events unfold in the record is not unique, but the map directors James and O’Shea manage to carry out it seemed modern to me.

Admittedly, being a typical guy who doesn’t consider of himself as too typical, I found that the romantic relationship that formed between Vicki (the vampire) and Holly worked out really well and helped carry the yarn to its crooked waste.

If you like independent awe movies such as Nadja, The Addiction, and Martin, then I’d say go for it. This movie may not be to everyone’s liking but it’s at least worth a rental and a itsy-bitsy patience on your portion.

The quality of the film itself was capable with a pretty level of grain intentionally added to plot up the atmosphere. There were no digital imperfections from what I could mumble.

This movie turned out to be dazzling profitable. It’s a alarm film about a woman who is doing a documentary about Goths, whom she calls the ‘weekend vamps’, and ends up getting keen in a lesbian relationship with a staunch vampire. I notion this movie was really trustworthy. It was also nice to gape all the wintry Goth characters and to have true Goth music in the movie from bands like Fields of the Nephilim, Ghost of Lemora, Voices of Masada, Scary Bitches and NFD.

Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode
Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode automatically detects nine different types of scenes and, within just 1/30th of a second, selects the appropriate camera settings: Backlight, Backlight Portrait, Twilight, Twilight Portrait, Twilight using a tripod, Portrait, Landscape, Macro, and Close Focus. iSCN has two modes: Auto and Advanced. In Auto Mode, the camera takes a single shot using the optimal settings. Anti-blink Function

Matrox Digital Version Triplehead 2Go
I am running this on a 3 LCD setup. The center screen is a 24in Dell Widescreen and the two side screens are Samsung 22in widescreens.
Setup: This was easy. Just connect up all the cables as per the diagram in the manual. You will need to find an extra USB input point as this version does away with the AC power adapter.
After installing the software and switching on you might find everything squeezed onto you LH monitor. Dont panic. Just go to the setup options in the Matrox Powerdesk and ensure you have selected the largest resolution in the Edit Mode List screen. Use the transfer arrows to move the desired option into the RH box.
In Use: So far I have used the Triplehead with FSX and GTR 2. In both sims the difference is amazing. I am running 2 SLI’ed GTS8800 Nvidia cards although FSX only uses one the screen resolution across all three monitors is very good. Not perfect. There is room for improvement in resolution but over all I can not see myself wanted to go back to just the 24in Dell and 1920×1080. The Triplehead runs at 3840×1024 but that is over a lot of screen real estate. The big difference is in the large amount of peripheral vision and in the ability to plonk those windows showing radio stacks, GPS and throttle consoles anywhere. Great Product
Great product. Does what it is supposed to do. Takes a little time to set up. The company website has lots of info to help troubleshoot. Recomend printing off instructions and some troubleshooting tips before installing. Difficult to read this info on your monitors when they are not working. Totally, completly satisfied. Best purchase ever.

Makes everything really come to life
I originally bought the analog version of TripleHead2Go and was very happy with it but when the digital version came out I upgraded. I am currently using a 27 inch Samsung monitor in the center with 21 inch Samsung monitors on the right and left sides. When the pictures I posted were taken I was using three 21 inch Samsungs monitors and that worked really well as you can see but I wanted an even more immersive experience so I changed out the center monitor for a 27 inch. The pictures are from Lord of the Rings Online, Unreal Tournament III and one just using the triple monitors for normal day activities. I used to use the system to play World of Warcraft and it worked just fine. My home office is long and narrow so I wasn’t able to back up enough to take a good photo to show all three monitors head on or how awesome the full effect is but you can get the idea from the pictures. The bottom line is that this little piece of hardware really makes a major difference in playing games and every day computing

Well, I took the bait…
I wrote a previous review for this device, based on my research as to its effectiveness, and summed it up with a cautiously positive opinion. That review discussed the FDA approval (based on the device being safe, but not necessarily effective), independent peer-reviewed studies, and the Dateline show that followed a HairMax user for one year (note that he was using it in combination with drug treatment). I received a few comments disregarding my review because i hadn’t used the device, so here’s a new one based on my actual experience.

Yes, I took the bait. I’m a user now. I figured that I’d rather spend the money on a non-invasive, non-chemical treatment that will leave me with a device to sell rather than a prescription to a drug that reportedly has the same odds of success.

First impressions:
It shipped out late (2+ weeks), with no alert from the manufacturer (I ordered direct). The package I received was missing the instructional DVD and the second set of combs. The DC plug was difficult to fit into the device and the lasers were not aligned very precisely (the beams diverged noticeably at two feet away – I doubt that this matters at all, other than an overall indication of precision). Hmmm… not a great first impression.

First 10 weeks:
The process is fairly straightforward… drag the comb across your entire scalp at least twice, taking enough time to make sure the laser penetrates the scalp. Half an inch every four seconds, with the entire process taking twenty minutes or more. It’s not at all painful or unpleasant, but it does require a commitment to make the time in a busy schedule. I chose mornings right after my shower on M-W-F for the procedure, and this worked well. The manual mentions that more treatments probably won’t hurt, but they still recommend the prescribed 3-day treatment every week. The manual also mentions that wet, clean hair (before gel treatments, spray, etc.) is preferable. Makes sense… water makes tissue more translucent. Drop some water on a piece of paper and hold it up to a light for an example of the principle.

I experienced accelerated hair loss in the first 10 weeks, which was mentioned in an online report. It didn’t bother me too much… the combing process involves working the hair against the nap and using a comb to clear it away as you progress. My hair wasn’t used to this type of disruption.

I also experienced increased body to my hair, which was also mentioned in the report. I attributed this to the same combing process… the device gives out a very small amount of heat, and as you comb through your hair it dries in a fluffed position. That leads to increased body much like blow-drying might.

The report also mentioned reduced gray hair with some users. Lately I think I may be seeing this as well, and I’m not complaining. Perhaps the thinner, weaker gray hairs are falling out.

Unfortunately, what I didn’t see in the first 10 weeks was convincing hair growth. And this is the tricky part… how do you know for sure? I mean, even without any kind of treatment, my hair looks thinner on certain days when I haven’t washed it, or if I’ve worn a hat, or my mother-in-law is around. And when the stars align just right, it can sometimes seem thicker as well. So how do you know whether the device is really working, given our subjective perception? You can choose to believe the independent studies (while wondering who paid for them), you can choose to believe the personal testimonies (while wondering about their compensation as well), or you can choose to just believe. Or maybe not, and return the thing (they give you 20 weeks for a return). I chose to keep going, based on desperation more than belief.

Next five weeks:
I’ll update this review (if it stays up on Amazon) as long as I keep the device, and so far I’ve used it for approximately fifteen weeks. I’ve neglected to use it maybe four times in those fifteen weeks, due to a lack of time (four out of forty-five… not too bad).

The lasers seems solid, but the beeper seems to go haywire now and then, either sticking on or going silent for awhile. Hmmm.

I’ve had a bit of an uptick in my opinion. It may have been just the planets aligning again, but my hair seems thicker overall, and definitely less gray. Then again, days later it seems thinner. Again, this is really a tough thing to gauge, given so many variables. For now, I’ll keep forging on, but if I don’t see more certain results by the holidays, you’ll see my LaserComb on eBay. It’ll be easy to spot – the one without the CD and with only one set of combs.

Final update:
Forgive me for not concluding my review… it’s been quite some time since I wrote my original comments, but I stopped using the Hairmax after about five months of use (and too late to take advantage of their 20-week return policy). In the end, I found I was fighting time (in more ways than one) and time is one tough cookie. Although I think the HairMax probably does work to some extent, I just couldn’t take the time needed to consistently use the device. Perhaps that’s a sorry statement about the busy nature of life in America, but I think it’s better seen as the ultimate comment regarding this device: I couldn’t find the time to fight time itself.

If you think you might have more commitment to the battle than I, the HairMax might be worth the effort. I chose to work out a peace agreement (okay, I surrendered). My hair is thinner than ever, but I no longer mind as much. I’ve accepted the fact that I’m getting older, and I welcome the clarity that comes with the decision.

I’ll be selling mine on eBay. As soon as I can find the time…

only bad thing is the price
I’ve been losing my hair for quite awhile….slowly.
Now, the crown of my head has lost all of its hair, and the front is thinning now.
I was going to get transplants.
However, I then got into a very bad car accident, and all money went to a new vehicle.
When I heard the comb was approved by the FDA, I called the company, and they were completely sold out.
I plunked down the money and got the comb.
It has been working for me! Seriously!
It may not work for everyone, but the thinning hair in front is thicker and growing back. Even the crown is starting to show life of small hairs regrowing. It’s not been long enough to see how things will end up, but it truly makes MY scalp feel better, has stopped the hair from falling out, and I truly, and unbelievably so, have seen regrowth!
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the price…way too high.
Then again, though I must stress again that it may not work for everyone, I’m happy to see actual results. I’m shocked!
I’m looking forward to the weeks ahead to see what may happen.
If all else has failed, you may want to give the laser comb a try.
I’m really glad I’m doing so!

It seems to be working after 6 months
I’m 33, Asian, my top crown area started to thin about since a year and half ago. Didn’t want to go for any chemical drugs because I didn’t want to mess up my kidney/body by their side effect. Also the sex drive side effect is very scary. I also looked at Rogaine but I was afraid of the heart-beat side effect because I’m a very devoted soccer player. I just can’t stop playing soccer for any reason. So I decided to give this hairmax a try. $550, not very cheap but I can afford it for a chance, why not, right?!

Started using it since March 2008, 3 times/week, 15 minutes each. From April thru mid June my hair GOT WORSE, lost more hair, and the top crown part had a clear ‘hole’, the horseshoe style. (I kept taking pictures to monitor the results) so i wondered why and did some research on the internet and found that it’s called ‘shedding’ period,it happens to some folks and i was one of the ‘lucky’ guys, but it was actually a good sign of new hair is about to grow out.. Oh well I had already begun using it so I thought to myself if I stopped there I’d have lost the hair and didn’t have a chance to get anything back.

So I kept using it. From mid July til now, mid Sept, I’d say that it clearly shows good re-grow of the hair, the crown hair has thicken and I could see many baby hair were there too. Very thrilled about the result, didn’t think it actually works!! I’ll keep using it until my comb dies, then I’ll buy another one! Another tip is sulfate free shampoo, I highly recommend you guys start using sulfate free shampoo, just use any brand, doesn’t matter. Sulfate really kills your hair.

Oh one thing I forgot to mention is that hairmax also made my hair looks healthy from day-one, that was also one of the reasons why i kept using it even the shedding occurred.

So the conclusion is, it took about 6 months for the hairmax comb to work on me, so if yours doesn’t seem to work for you in the first 2-3 months, or even 5,6 months, KEEP USING IT. THe result wasn’t crazily good like the before/after pictures shown on their website, but it is certainly good enough to keep me a happy customer and I’ll certainly keep using it!

This film is not impartial for young Barbie fans. It is also for their moms – particularly moms like me who grew up admiring Tchaikovsky’s pretty “Swan Lake” ballet. I saw it performed by the Royal Ballet in London as a teenager and have been enraptured with the sage eversince.

I purchased this DVD for my 3 year venerable daughter for us to peer and indulge in together. My daughter loves it because of the sweet tale, sportive characters, the dances and, of course, for Barbie! What I enjoyed about this movie is how it captures the spirit of the ballet. Any decent adaptation of “Swan Lake” needs to incorporate Tchaikovsky’s music into the yarn and this movie does unbiased that. Add to this the fine ballet that the characters produce and a set that stays fairly right to the new (albeit minor changes to obtain it more G or PG-ish) . In this case, Odette becomes lost in the Enchanted Forest and is captured and transformed into a swan by the sinister Rothbart. The fairy queen helps her by changing the spell so that she becomes a swan by day but transforms relieve to her veteran self at night. While wandering the forest the Prince Daniel meets and falls in cherish with Odette but only through courage and strength can Odette rep a plan to defeat Rothbart and demolish the spell.

This is a comely narrative that any young girl (and her mother) would appreciate. The CGI is glorious and the movie is filled with delicate scenes and landscapes. The dance sequences are graceful and are lifted almost directly from Tchaikovsky’s ballet and the music, of course, is wonderfully incorporated into the film. Highly recommended for Barbie, Swan Lake or young ballet fans, their sisters and their moms!

Barbie. I tried to retain her away from my rough and descend twin girls as long as possible. I relented two months ago, for their fourth birthday. I honest couldn’t squelch their girly-girlishness any longer. First came the dolls, then the outfits, and now the accessories. Great-Grandma bought them this dvd, Swan Lake, while we visited for Thanksgiving. The whole family is pleasantly surprised at how animated it is! It successfully kept the two older brothers and daddy out of the kitchen for a respectable section of the afternoon!

If you are not freaked out by fantasy, crystals, unicorns, and magic, than I explain you, your miniature girl will delight in this dvd. I reflect what I really enjoyed about it is that it uses the classical Swan Lake music, rather than Disney-esque songs. So if I have to listen to it in the background every day for the next week or two (as children are wont to do with a unique dvd), it is mighty more great than listening to inanimate objects singing mind-numbing verse.

The animation is very realistic, especially the dance sequences. The record is about proper vs scandalous, and courage. There is humor, beauty, some scariness, and of course, correct admire.

The additional featurette about girls and music was very enchanting. It features five teenage girls and how music is such a strong piece of their lives (two violins, one cello, one harp, and one trumpet) . My girls have now taken to “performing” music for us, using a puny electronic keyboard and a guitar, which they prop between their legs like a cello. They even “rehearse” prior to performing. I mediate a care for of music is vitally famous in creating a well-rounded soul, and I am thrilled that this Barbie featurette gave them an impetus to actively participate in music-making, rather than impartial listening.
